"I have the simplest of tastes, I just like the finer things in life"
I am a busy boy. For my day job I work as an Environmental Biologist and after work I have many activities, including running a small business. I rarely have time to cook and honestly, I am not very good at it. I do enjoy baking though. Therefore, I find myself eating out everyday. In the last five years, I think I have cooked less than 10 meals if you do not include what I have made on the BBQ.

O-toro:
Born in Tokyo, growing up in New York and Toronto i have been fortunate to be exposed to so many different cuisines, with Japanese being a constant at home.
In Toronto my parents ran and owned a Japanese restaurant for some time and had the opportunity to work there and gain first hand knowledge of the tastes and traditions of Japanese cuisine. Leaving my family and living in Vancouver, I am more than happy to enjoy the great selection of dining that this city has to offer. Food is a big part of my life. I love all food, of all cultures. enjoy.
Joe

Every new year I resolve to eat at home more, and every year I fail miserably. But now I get to document my shortcomings for all to see.
Kimbo:
Edmontonian at heart and Vancouverite by choice. I love to travel. I love to eat. I love to photograph. I am blessed to have grown up in a family that shares the same love I have for food. Half my family resides in the US so my eating adventures may drift south from time to time! Happy reading and eating to you!
Thanks for stopping by.

Great blog...You need to add a tab for recommendations.
Can I follow you on Twitter? I love this site because I love to food. Great job!

Like you, I am also on a gastronomic adventure of epic purportions!
I am not obsessed about food, I simply adore it with a sweet sweet passion.
I regularly look up cuisines and exotic fruits of all origins on the internets.
You can't know a culture until you've tasted it.
You have a fantastic site, I'm glad to have stumbled upon it while searching for a new place to eat tonight.
Keep up the good work and keep having great eats (O:
Dude. This is awesome!
Much love.
really enjoying slogging through the slop. very read-able and lots of fun recommendations. NICE!
Vancouver Slop is for those moments where you can't decide where to eat.
Settled many lengthy debates.
Great new site!
If you are a food lover you must check out the Steveston Farmers Market. Two Guys With Big Peppers are there with awesome Blackberry Habanero and Cranberry,Sage & Habanero Jams.

Hey Matt!
Just wanted to say it was nice meeting you at the Livestock Block Party, if you don't remember I'm Eugene's best friend. I love this blog mostly because I love going out to eat, haha. Make sure to check out my suggestion of $7 Steak & Prawns Sunday at Loose Moose and maybe one day I will check out Tenhanchi since its right across the street but I'm still weary...
Cheers
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your stylish, sharp, honest food commentary... Will keep scoping out your blog for more reviews.
At last an honest food blog by someone who doesn't own the place!
A job well done in The Food City.
BTW have you checked out the new "factory outlet" in Richmond
www.thepresscafe.ca or the new "sushi mart" on Robson www.sushimart.com I love 'em both !
Hi there,
Just wanted to give you a heads up about a great new sustainable travel contest to celebrate Cadbury Dairy Milk's Fair Trade certification. It's one of our biggest brands and will make Fair Trade Certified chocolate easily accessible to Canadians.
The contest encourages people to make “Fair Trades” in exchange for a chance to win a trip for 4 to Ghana! The winner will get to see the impact of Fair Trade on cocoa farms in Ghana, Africa.
Thought you might like to let your readers in on the contest and website. You can check it out at http://dairymilk.ca/fairtrade.
If you have any q’s, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks!

Hi! I was referred to your blog through one of the guys I work with, he's supposedly good friends with you... I'm glad he did, I really enjoy following it!
Love your website! Keep up the great work!
How come you don't use your real names or post any pictures of yourselves?
Is this blog now going to be about recipes instead of restaurant reviews?
Because if it is, I doubt that I'll want to read it as much...
The main reason why I go to restaurants is because I'm too lazy/busy to cook...so it seems ironic to have recipes in this blog.
Just sayin'
This blog is about all things food. You will see both restaurant reviews and recipes on this blog. While, you may not enjoy it, many others do.
I find it more ironic that you would only use the web for information about restaurants and not about recipes.
There are a ton of great recipes on the web.
Stay frosty.
Love your food blog... as one other poster already said, "I love the fact that it's just your honest opinions."
Keep up the good work. I'll be checking back regularly.
I'm really glad I found your blog...but how come your Toronto and Montreal ones aren't up and running so to speak??! If they're anything like Vancity Slop I'd love to compare notes...How come??? Huh...how come??? Haha. Slop rules.
