It was raining today and I wanted something warm for dinner. I have heard people talking about Aoki sushi and I have seen lines outside the place many times so I thought I would venture over.
The problem with eating solo is that you don't get to sample much of a variety. Dinning alone today, I ordered the Negitoro which came really fast and had a great clean taste to it. It didn't taste fishy at all which many small sushi joints have a problem with. The second dish I ordered was the tempura udon. You get two pieces of prawn and three mixed balls of tempura potpourri (small pieces of carrot, potato, pepper). However, the broth had no taste, pretty much like water. Really bland, it was like you were really sick and you lost your taste buds. I had to dump soya sauce and shichimi to try and get flavour to it but I still failed. Eventually I gave up and ate the tempura and the noodles in the soup and peaced out.

I will come back to try some of the other rolls. Tell me what to get if you have been here before.
As far as the atmosphere goes, it is not that hype.

i think its above average there. the price is also quite good. it's not stellar, but the fish is usually fresh.
the dragon roll is pretty good there
I'm pretty big on the godzilla roll... Their pork gyoza, tonkatsu, and negitoro-don are good too..
You need to try the godzilla roll!
Why would you go to a sushi restaurant and have udon? Or tempura? You go to a sushi restaurant to eat sushi. Try the chirashi-don and do another review.
