I made it, after 2 hours of standing outside in the lunch line up. I think my toes are still unthawing. I happened to meet a regular couple there who drives every Friday from Richmond for Kintaro's ramen and swears it's the best in the Lower Mainland.

Anyways, it was fun considering you only paid $2 each for the ramen and gyoza. As to the miso ramen, I think I still prefer the one at their sister restaurant, Motomachi, as the miso flavour is stronger there. Also, I wanted to add some extras, but due to the volume, we were limited to ordering the basic ramen only.

Overall, everyone in the line up was very orderly and well behaved. A lot of passers by were amazed at the crazy line up, simply for a bowl of ramen. I guess I'm not the only penny pincher.

Happy 10th Anniversary Kintaro and thanks for the deal. Now if only other restaurants were inspired to do the same thing I could do this all year round!

I had heard about it and when I popped by your website you confirmed it, so thank you! Really only had to wait 30 min in the cold but was so worth it when you get to drown yourself in a hot steaming bowl of ramen! $2.00?? Ridiculous! If I could have stomached it I would have ate a second bowl...
