In my opinion, this is one of the best events in the city. I have attended the last two and had a great time at both. Not only are the presentations funny, informative and inspiring but if you arrive early you get free beer (Peroni).
The next Pecha Kucha is on March 26, 2009 and it will be held at the Park Theatre in Vancouver. This time, I will not be sitting in the audience the whole time, as I will be presenting about some of my past projects including Vancouver Slop. If I have the same amount of beers in me as I did last time, my asian red face might be slurring some words as I talk. I will do my best to make it interesting for everyone.
Pecha Kucha started in Japan and has now grown to over 100 countries world wide. The basis behind Pecha Kucha is that the presenters create a presentation that is 20 slides long, and each slide is shown for 20 seconds. This format keeps the presentation moving fast, and the presentation dictates the pace not the speaker. This also means that my presentation is only 6 minutes and 40 seconds long, so if I am boring, I will not be boring for more than 7 minutes.
I hope you all can attend this great event. For the ten dollar price tag, you get an amazing value. Get there early to get the free beer and a good seat.
