My relationship with Matt, founder of Vancouver slop, was born over a dinner at Guu and a conversation about colonics. My colonic doctor advised that I stay away from spicy foods. With that said, I upheld my friendship with Matt and lost the Dr.

If you've ever met me, you would know that my favourite restaurant in my home town of Toronto is Terroni (traditional southern italian food/see iphone commercial). Lucky for me, my dear friend Joyce visited me recently and with her brought a jar of Terroni's homemade pepperoncini (spicy chili peppers). Needless to say, I have drowned everything in sight from pizza to sunny side up eggs with these beautiful deep red ornaments of spicy goodness.

Too much to get east? Try south! Los Angeles has now acquired it's own Terroni which I have visited. Amazing! Terroni also made it to the top ten list as to why LA is better than New York (that's questionable).

My medical opinion...whether it's Terroni's own or an Italian jar from Bosa Foods, please keep your kitchen stocked with a jar of these spicy little devils. Put them on your pizza, put the oil in your sauce and add a little spice to your life!!

I'm sorry but I've been to the Terroni's in LA a few times now with different people including a super foodie (a relative is a food buyer and her life is food) and both times were highlyyyyyyyyyyyyy disappointed. Highly. And everyone else I know who has gone has had the same horrible experience. I am sure the original in Toronto is better but LA sure bastardized the place. We had horrible service but the food itself was subpar each time we have gone. The only saving grace to that establishment are the bartenders.

Never again that's for sure. If I'm going to have some casual Italian I'll take Mozza if I can get a reservation any day.

And the fact that Terroni's LA made a list of why LA is better than NYC is proof positive that most people in California are idiots. And I live here!

Im sorry that you have had these experiences at the LA location. I did not have he opportunity to frequent it while i was there. I myself have never been disappointed in Toronto...you're right, the original is probably the best. Hopefully you can try it soon to change your mind. Try the wintertime, effin' cold but cozy inside.

And the whole LA is better than New York thing...well like i said it's very questionable.
