Ooohhh...it's hard to choose only three favs and I'm not a big "foodie" so my criteria is probably slightly different. Firstly, although the quality and freshness of the food is very important to me, it's the atmosphere that makes me go back again and again. Although Six Acres, Chambar, Nuba, Crave, Finch's Tea & Coffee House, Medina Cafe, Salt and Les Faux Bourgeois make my top ten, these three would have to be my favourite spots this summer;

1. L'altro Buca (formerly Parkside): This restaurant has always been a favourite of mine in it's various incarnations and I've hosted parties here because of it's sophisticated atmosphere. It's very romantic, but in a cool and laid back sort of way...the mysterious descending staircase entry, the intimate dark wood interior and the European styled patio surrounded by overgrown foliage. The food could really only be French or Italian to fit it's inhabitat and L'altro Buca is a perfect match, oh, and the food is great too!

2. Seasons in the Park (the patio): I have never dined inside the restaurant but the outdoor patio has the best view of the city. I'd recommend ending a walk around the park with a drink on the patio by the open fire looking out into the city lights. It's a great place for dreaming.

3. Alfresco Vancouver: This isn't a restaurant per se but it was the best food I've had out in a long time. It's a guerrilla-style outdoor potluck that takes place in various urban locations around the city. Sixty people gathered at the one I went to (dress code: white) and brought the most delicious, healthy, homemade mains and desserts. It was the first "restaurant" where you get to eat good food AND meet new friends. (sign-up to get notified of the next one at (eat@alfrescovancouver.com)

Note from the editor:
Cause and Affect is also the group that delivers Pecha Kucha in Vancouver (one of the best events in the city), and the next one is April 8, 2010 at the Vogue Theatre. You have to go!!!!!
